Idaho Enhanced CWP

No live ammunition or loaded firearms are allowed in the classroom.

The state of Idaho now offers two conceal carry permits: the Standard CWP and the Enhanced CWP. The enhanced permit is honored by more states than the standard permit, with more states likely to be added in the near future.

The five to six hour classroom course satisfies the lecture requirement for the Idaho Enhanced CWP.  The Rocky Mountain Defense Firearms Training includes the following:

  1. two hours of legal instruction provided by a practicing Idaho attorney
  2. safety training
  3. familiarity with your weapon
  4. shooting fundamentals
  5. ammunition considerations
  6. concealed carry
  7. self-defense principles
  8. maintenance

Rocky Mountain Defense Firearms Training’s three hour live-fire training satisfies the shooting requirement portion of the Idaho Enhanced CWP. It covers the following:

  1. shooting range safety, etiquette and range commands
  2. live-fire training focused on self-defense
  3. clearing firearm malfunctions

Participants in our Idaho Enhanced CWP course should bring the following:

  • a handgun
  • minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition (factory loads only, no reloads)
  • a strong-side (dominant hand) belt holster worn on a sturdy belt
  • eye protection
  • hearing protection
  • a hat or visor with a brim

Please bring a lunch. It will take the entire time to cover the required elements.
