No live ammunition or loaded firearms are allowed in the classroom.
The Basic Handgun Training & Self-Defense taught by Rocky Mountain Defense Firearms Training will help you
with the following learning objectives:
- Gain confidence
- Learn basic safe pistol handling
- Learn stance, grip, trigger control, draw, and holstering
- Practice shooting with instructor direction
- Fill Idaho Concealed Weapons Permit requirements (optional)
This classroom portion of this training includes the following elements:
- self-defense principles
- safety training
- familiarity with your weapon
- shooting fundamentals
- ammunition considerations
- concealed carry
- maintenance
Rocky Mountain Defense Firearms Training’s live-fire training covers:
- shooting range safety, etiquette and range commands
- live-fire training focused on self-defense
- clearing firearm malfunctions
- shooting in a variety of conditions
Participants in this course should bring the following:
- a handgun (any caliber)
- 100 rounds of ammunition (factory loads only, no reloads)
- a strong-side (dominant hand) belt holster worn on a sturdy belt
- eye protection
- hearing protection
- a hat or visor with a brim
Please bring a lunch. It will take the entire time to cover the required elements.
